12-22-2009
The 2010 election season is right around the corner. Brandon Shinholser has focused on this election for nearly two years, and he recently announced who his campaign manager will be for the upcoming election.
Andrew Watts, a political scholar from the University of Georgia, will serve as campaign manager for Shinholser’s 2010 bid for Mayor of Athens. He also has experience in local government in the middle Georgia area. He will have his hands full as the election season begins to pick up. Shinholser made the announcement on Tuesday morning in preparation for the beginning of a thrilling election year. Watts brings innovation, leadership, and political strategy to the helm of the Brandon for Athens Campaign.
“Andrew’s prior experience in political philosophy, government budgeting and finance, and public administration in democracy ultimately helped me to seal the deal in filling the position,” says Brandon. “He is the best person to fill the position, and his expertise is vital in leading us to victory in November 2010.”
“I’m deeply honored by Brandon’s selection of me to serve as his manager,” Watts said, “and I believe that we will continue to move forward and upward, all the way to City Hall.” “I’ve been working with Brandon’s campaign almost since the beginning, and I’ve seen him evolve into a formidable candidate. Because of his near full-time study of the issues that concern the citizens of Athens-Clarke County, I believe him to be the most qualified candidate in this race, and I look forward to helping him bring this election in for a landing.”
Brandon Shinholser looks to continue his mission to assemble an experienced and well-talented staff that stands out among the many campaigns. “Together, we will build a campaign that will be successful in sending a true progressive to City Hall in November 2010,” said Shinholser.
